No one has seen a Sleeper.
Human. Enhanced human. A being operating inside a human shell. A government experiment. None of these explanations has been confirmed. Their identity remains a mystery, as does the mechanism that allows them to enter anyone’s dreams.
In the dream state, their power appears almost godlike. But appearances are part of their advantage.
02 / THE MEMORY THAT NEVER HAPPENED

Fabricated lives
Sleepers can implant artificial memories of an entire lifetime. To the person carrying them, those memories are indistinguishable from authentic experience.
Altered perception
They can make a victim believe they inhabit another reality. The manipulation changes the person’s perception, rather than physically rewriting the world around them.
The missing past
They can erase access to memories and leave amnesia—or replace what is missing with a fabricated past. Implanted memories require no maintenance.
BENEATH THE FABRICATION
The real memories remain.
Buried within the individual, authentic memories may begin sending signals through the subconscious during dreams. Whether those signals lead to recognition or recovery depends on the person.
Every brain is different. Every person’s will is different. Some may break through. For others, the loss may be effectively permanent.

It is still your dream.
The victim possesses power equal to the Sleeper within their own dream. Most do not know it. Recognizing both the manipulation and the invader makes resistance possible; using that power demands strength of mind and will.
Real consequences
Both victim and Sleeper can be injured. Both can be killed. A Sleeper’s dream dominance can end a victim’s life in their sleep.
Awareness changes the battle
A surviving Sleeper may attack again. But an aware victim can anticipate the invasion and gains the upper hand. The battles that follow are still difficult.
